                                      The Emergency Burn Care lecture is designed for medical providers, as well as fire, EMS and nursing staff. 

                                      OVERVIEW 

                                      Fire & EMS burn educator Lisa Smith will instruct participants on treatment protocols (both pre-hospital and post-hospitalization) in the first 24 hours of a burn injury in adult and pediatric patients with an additional focus on electrical burns. 

                                      At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will be able to: 

                                      • Identify the demographics of burn injuries in adult and pediatric patients
                                      • Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other related dermatologic pathologies in adult and pediatric burn patients
                                      • Determine when adult and pediatric burn patients should be transferred to a verified burn center 
                                      • Identify signs of potential abuse and know when to report
