Amanda Cooksy, Fire and EMS burn educator for the Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America, will teach the lecture with a focus on the first 24 hours of treatment after a burn or wound injury. This is a closed Emergency Burn Care lecture for fire and EMS staff at Commerce Fire and AMR Hunt County.

At the conclusion of this virtual course, attendees will be able to: 

• Identify demographics of flame, chemical and electrical burn injuries 
• Determine when a patient should be transferred to a verified burn center
• Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other dermatologic pathologies  
• Convey principles behind wound closure 

Since this is a closed course, participants must receive an enrollment key from their facility coordinator to self-enroll in this course.
