This four-hour course focuses on the first 24 hours of treatment after a burn or wound injury (for adult and pediatric patients) and is taught by BRCA fire/EMS educator, Lisa Smith.
At the conclusion of this virtual course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify demographics of flame, chemical and electrical burn injuries
- Determine when patients should be transferred to a verified burn center
- Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other dermatologic pathologies
- Present emergency protocols for replants of hand and finger work-related injuries
Since this is a closed Emergency Burn Care lecture for fire staff at Savannah River Site in Augusta, Georgia, participants must receive an enrollment key from their facility coordinator to self-enroll in this course.
