A discovered benefit of laser therapy for burn scars is the ability to deliver topical drugs into the scar with the use of lasers. In this lecture, Dr. Rajiv Sood identifies best practices and shares laser therapy protocols for use when treating burn reconstruction patients. 

    Objectives include:   

    • Understanding basic laser dynamics 

    • Identifying drugs that can be used for delivery  

    • Reviewing clinical outcomes using these methods 

    Dr. Sood serves as the Chief of Plastics and Reconstructive Services for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital of Augusta - the largest burn facility in the country. With more than 30 years experience as a burn and wound plastic surgeon, he is currently an American Burn Association (ABA) Fellow and head of the ABA verification committee. 

    The course takes 60 minutes to complete.
