The Emergency Burn Care lecture is designed for fire and EMS staff, as well as nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and physicians. Basically, anyone who treats patients in emergency situations will benefit from this training. 

    OVERVIEW 

    Lisa Smith - Fire and EMS burn educator for the Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America - will teach the lecture focused on the first 24 hours of treatment following a burn injury and the immediate steps to take on moulaged patients based on different injuries and symptoms. This is a closed Emergency Burn Care lecture for the Chatham Emergency Management Agency.   

    At the conclusion of this virtual course, attendees will be able to: 

    • Identify demographics of flame, chemical and electrical burn injuries in pediatric patients
    • Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other dermatologic pathologies
    • Determine when patients should be transferred to a verified burn center
