The Emergency Burn Care lecture is designed for medical providers, as well as fire, EMS and nursing staff. Basically, anyone who treats patients in emergency situations will benefit from this training. 

    OVERVIEW 

    Fire & EMS burn educator Lisa Smith will instruct participants on treatment protocols (both pre-hospital and post-hospitalization) in the first 24 hours of a burn injury in adult and pediatric patients. 

    At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will be able to: 

    • Identify the demographics of burn injuries in adult and pediatric patients

    • Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other related dermatologic pathologies in adult and pediatric burn patients

    • Determine when adult and pediatric burn patients should be transferred to a verified burn center 

    • Identify signs of potential abuse and know when to report
