This four-hour course focuses on the first 24 hours of treatment after a burn or wound injury for adult and pediatric patients and is taught by BRCA burn educator, Hanna Harris (NP). It is a closed lecture for fire and EMS staff at Coweta County Fire in Newnan, GA.
At the conclusion of this virtual course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify demographics of flame, chemical and electrical burn injuries
- Determine when patients should be transferred to a verified burn center
- Present an initial evaluation and management of burns and other dermatologic pathologies
- Identify signs of pediatric abuse and when to report
